Cape Town, September 12 -- More professional black South Africans may be joining the labour market, but white males are still more likely to be promoted to senior positions. This according to the annual Equity Employment Report, released by the Department of Labour on Tuesday.

The department says amendments to Employment Equity legislation have already been approved by cabinet. The amendments will ensure employers are held accountable for not adhering to equity targets.
