MIMOZA H - Biography

Mimoza H, originally from Kosovo, is a singer/songwriter based in Montreal. An instinctual, autodidact musician, she draws inspirations from personal and social life experiences. Her music is influenced by the hardships of the constant moving and being on the road.

A longing soul in search of inner truth, Mimoza's music evokes at times contradictory and paradoxal feelings of life moments, striving to find a beautiful balance between love, pain and melancholy, always with an underlying tone of hope and excitement for life. Her music is a self-therapeutic journey of raw expression of personal and imaginative stories approching it with an honest and raw interpretation and authentic roots of sounds and melodies that resonate with the ever-changing, ever-growing human condition.

Mimoza H draws inspirations from the likes of PJ Harvey, Björk, Dead Can Dance, Kate Bush, Nick Cave, Ana Calvi, Portishead, Massive Attack.

The EP explores a wide sonic spectrum of organic sounds and minimal electronic beats with a touch of dreamy / hypnotic and weeping background. The EP possesses elements of psychedelic, trippy, and jazzy elements, thus creating a bridge between the 'old' and the 'new' music reaching moments of timelessness. At times dark and cinematic, ecclectic and dynamic, original melodes and unique interpretation and lyrical imagery, are among core characteristics of this debut EP.
